Bruce Johnson is a highly esteemed commercial lawyer and Senior Counsel of Ellsworth Johnson Michaud, bringing decades of legal leadership to the firm. With a wealth of experience, Bruce has solidified his reputation as a trusted advisor in corporate, commercial, and insolvency matters.
Bruce embarked on his legal career after being called to the New Brunswick bar in 1973. He obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton in 1969, followed by his Bachelor of Laws degree in 1973. Throughout his career, Bruce has continuously expanded his knowledge and shared his insights as a lecturer at the Law Society of New Brunswick's Bar Admission Course and Continuing Legal Education Courses.
With a focus on corporate, commercial, and insolvency law, Bruce has provided invaluable counsel to business organizations, shareholders, directors, and officers. His experience encompasses a wide range of issues, including organizational structures, governance, financing, contracts, succession planning, and dissolution matters. Bruce has also developed a niche in the bankruptcy, insolvency, and restructuring field, representing trustees, receivers, debtors, and creditors under the restructuring provisions of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies Creditors Arrangement Act.
In addition to his professional achievements, Bruce remains actively involved in community affairs. He has served as President of the Moncton Boys and Girls Club and his Community Association, demonstrating his commitment to making a positive impact. Bruce has also been a Director of various Moncton area tennis clubs and has earned national recognition as a wine expert.
